Kids Martial Arts in Miami | Krav Maga, BJJ & MMA
Building Confidence, Discipline and Real Skills for Life.
At Krav Maga Miami, we believe martial arts education should help children become stronger, more confident, more disciplined and more responsible individuals.
Our Kids & Teens programs offer a structured approach to martial arts through Krav Maga, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
Rather than teaching children to fight for the sake of fighting, we focus on helping them develop practical skills, self-control, respect, coordination and the confidence to face challenges.
Every child develops at a different pace. Our goal is to recognize that individuality and provide the attention, encouragement and technical guidance each student needs to progress.
We don’t just teach children martial arts. We help them grow through martial arts.
Kids Martial Arts Classes in Miami | Ages 6 to 12
Our Kids Martial Arts program is designed for children between the ages of 6 and 12.
At this stage, martial arts training should develop essential physical and mental abilities while remaining engaging, progressive and appropriate to each child’s maturity.
Students work on balance, coordination, concentration, discipline, movement and technical understanding.
They also learn important values such as respecting their training partners, listening to instructions, managing frustration and recognizing that improvement requires effort and consistency.
Our program allows parents to choose between individual martial arts disciplines or a more comprehensive training experience through Kids Unlimited.
Kids Krav Maga | Practical Self Defense & Awareness
Krav Maga introduces children to the principles of personal safety and practical self-defense.
Our approach emphasizes awareness, prevention, establishing boundaries and recognizing when to avoid or leave a dangerous situation.
Students progressively develop defensive movement, coordination, striking fundamentals and age-appropriate responses to physical aggression.
However, learning self-defense is not about encouraging children to use violence.
It is about helping them understand when physical action may be necessary, when it should be avoided and why responsibility matters.
Through structured instruction, children develop confidence without being encouraged to become aggressive.
The objective is not to teach children to look for fights. It is to help them become more aware, capable and responsible.
Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu | Balance, Control & Problem-Solving
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu provides children with a different and complementary martial arts experience.
Through grappling, positional control and technical movement, students learn how to manage physical challenges using leverage, balance and body positioning.
Our Kids BJJ classes emphasize fundamental positions, controlled escapes, transitions and age-appropriate techniques.
Beyond the physical benefits, BJJ encourages patience, concentration and problem-solving.
Children discover that strength alone is not always the solution and that technique, timing and perseverance can make a significant difference.
They also learn how to cooperate with training partners, respect physical boundaries and practice in a controlled environment.
BJJ is particularly valuable for developing body awareness, coordination and the ability to remain composed when facing resistance.
Kids MMA | Combining Martial Arts Skills
Mixed Martial Arts introduces students to the relationship between striking, movement, grappling and transitions.
Our Kids MMA training is adapted to the age, experience and physical development of the participants.
The emphasis is on technical learning, coordination, controlled exercises and understanding how different martial arts skills connect.
Children are not expected to train or compete under the same conditions as adult MMA fighters.
Safety, supervision and appropriate training intensity remain essential.
Kids MMA is offered once per week and is exclusively available to Kids Unlimited members.
This additional class allows students to explore how the skills developed through Krav Maga and BJJ can complement one another in a broader martial arts training environment.
Why Train in Both Krav Maga and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?
Krav Maga and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu are two distinct disciplines, each offering important benefits.
Krav Maga focuses on practical self-defense, situational awareness, defensive reactions and standing techniques.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu emphasizes grappling, balance, positional control, escapes and technical problem-solving.
Training in both allows children to develop a wider range of physical skills and a more complete understanding of martial arts.
The two disciplines also encourage different forms of learning.
Krav Maga develops decision-making in self-defense situations, while BJJ teaches students to work through physical resistance with patience and technical control.
Together, they provide a valuable combination of skills that can support a child’s long-term development.
Kids Unlimited | A Complete Martial Arts Education
Parents can enroll their children in Krav Maga or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as individual disciplines.
For families seeking a broader training experience, Kids Unlimited provides access to the academy’s eligible Kids Krav Maga, BJJ and MMA classes, according to the student’s age group and schedule.
The Unlimited program allows children to develop complementary skills rather than concentrating exclusively on one discipline.
It also includes the weekly Kids MMA class, which is not available as a separate membership.
This approach is designed for children who enjoy martial arts and want the opportunity to explore different aspects of training within one structured academy.
One academy. Multiple disciplines. A more complete learning experience.
Teens Martial Arts | The Next Stage of Development
As children enter adolescence, their physical abilities, maturity and training needs change.
Our Teens Martial Arts program provides a separate learning environment designed for this important stage of development.
Teenagers can continue building their skills through age-appropriate martial arts instruction while developing greater technical understanding, physical coordination, discipline and personal responsibility.
Training becomes progressively more demanding as students gain experience and demonstrate the ability to manage additional complexity and intensity.
Our objective is to help teenagers develop independence, confidence and respect while maintaining the technical standards and responsible training practices of the academy.
Small Groups. Individual Attention. Meaningful Progress.
We believe that quality instruction requires more than demonstrating techniques in front of a large group.
Every child is different.
Some students are naturally athletic. Others are shy, hesitant or need more time to develop coordination and confidence.
At Krav Maga Miami, we prioritize limited group sizes and individual attention so instructors can recognize each student’s strengths, challenges and progress.
Training partners are selected with consideration for age, size, experience and ability.
Technical difficulty and training intensity are introduced progressively.
Our goal is to create an environment where children can challenge themselves, learn from mistakes and improve without unnecessary pressure or comparison.
Every student deserves to be seen, guided and encouraged to progress.
More Than Martial Arts | Skills That Extend Beyond the Academy
The benefits of martial arts training can extend beyond physical techniques.
Through regular practice, children have opportunities to develop discipline, patience, perseverance, concentration and respect.
They learn that improvement takes time, that challenges are part of the learning process and that consistent effort matters.
These are valuable lessons both inside and outside the academy.
We do not promise that martial arts will automatically transform every child’s personality.
We do believe that responsible instruction and a positive training environment can contribute meaningfully to a young person’s development.
